In a town where meat and carbs are pretty much the only option, this place did it as well as most. The welcome was generally warmer and the menu a little broader. If we'd not found it so late in our stay we'd have been back

Recommended by our B&B & was not disappointed. The bbq chicken was one of the best we have tasted. Portions were good, house red & coffee excellent. When we left, there were queues waiting for tables & takeaway was popular too.

Friday... market day in Mesão Frio. Lunch at Filipa's restaurant. The feijoada or tripas, whatever you want to call them, wasn't good... they were divine. From the first bite, silence fell; we looked at each other, just nodded and smiled... and another bite. Thank you very much, Filipa.
